From a Franchisor's viewpoint I recognised the importance of producing compliant Franchise Documents that can be easily interpreted by candidates and key conditions are in plain English.
Establishing the last Franchise we used the firm "The Franchise & Business Lawyers" and found Elizabeth's precise franchise document requirements/knowledge and practical experience extremely helpful especially dealing with abnormal items and pointing out any unfair provisions.
Elizabeth was available for us on a day to day basis when we needed assistance and importantly returned phone calls on the same day.

Elizabeth Gore-Jones has acted for a number of companies in our group for the last three years. She's been able to offer the extensive experience she gained from working in big law firms previously, together with the personalised service one can only receive from a smaller company. Not only has she provided expertise as a franchise specialist, she's also demonstrated a deep understanding of commercial matters that have proven invaluable to us.
Elizabeth is a highly skilled, responsive and professional lawyer. She's a pleasure to deal with and is vitally important to our organisation.

Testimonial of In the Booth
It is with pleasure that I provide the following testimonial regarding our experience with Elizabeth Gore-Jones of The Franchise and Business Lawyers.
When we made the decision to franchise our business in 2009, we had no knowledge or experience of the franchise world or what was involved in developing a successful franchise system. We were recommended to Elizabeth Gore-Jones by our franchise development team, and the decision to engage her to develop the legal framework of our franchise system continues to be one of the best decisions we have made. The nature of our franchise model presented some very complicated dynamics to ensure that both the franchisor and franchisee's best interests were maintained. Elizabeth's knowledge has been invaluable in this development, and I have no doubt that without her experience and skill our network would not be the successful growing franchise that it is today. I firmly believe that many pitfalls that may present to new franchisors have been avoided through her guidance and support.
Over the past years our dealings with Elizabeth have been more akin to a familiar business colleague or friend than that of a lawyer and client. Elizabeth is always quickly available and on many occasions has happily discussed matters at short notice or after hours when the need has arisen.Elizabeth often deals directly with our franchisees throughout the contractual process, and the feedback we receive from our partners is fantastic. Many of our new franchisees have no prior experience in the franchise industry, and they are always impressed with Elizabeth's patience and willingness to discuss anything that is not understood.
I have no hesitation in recommending Elizabeth Gore-Jones to anyone seeking to enter the franchise industry either as a franchisee or franchisor. We place the highest level of trust in her advice and ethical judgement, and have always been impressed with her common sense approach to matters. Elizabeth shares our genuine desire to see our business succeed at all levels, ensuring that the needs of all parties are balanced so that the business as a whole can grow and function to its fullest potential.Throughout this time Elizabeth has also provided support to successfully protect our intellectual property on several occasions.
I would welcome a conversation with anyone considering The Franchise & Business Lawyers.Steve Austin

I recently purchased a franchise coffee shop.
I had never owned a business before, or worked in a coffee shop, so the whole concept was new to me.
The paperwork and documentation was overwhelming and consisted of hundreds of pages of legal terms. For each document, Elizabeth Gore-Jones provided a summary for each point, advising what this meant and a further column advising what it meant to me, or what I needed to be aware of etc.
This made it so much easier for me to understand.
Further, we had an issue with the bank and Elizabeth chased them and chased them to get a response. Finally conact was made only to find that they had "forgotten" about the settlement. This was now with under one week before settlement and the bank said there was no way that settlement would go ahead. Elizabeth strongly followed this up, and made direct contact with the franchisor and teh seller's solicitors. They all worked together putting pressure on the bank taking it higher and did not let up untel settlement occured on time. This resulted in hourly communique during the last few days and Elizabeth was wonderful throughout this process.
Thank you Elizabeth and I will strongly recommend you to any other party.
I contacted Elizabeth after months of not getting anywhere with my franchisor over overpaid royalties and an expired deed for a store. I was hesitant to get lawyers involved but after the first 20 minutes with talking to Elizabeth, I realised I should have done it months ago. Within 36hrs of getting all the paperwork to Elizabeth she had sent a letter of demand and the overpaid royalties of 6 months were back in my account. Dealing with a Franchisor over such matters can be a little daunting, but Elizabeth made it feel a lot less intimidating.
It is with pleasure and satisfaction that I recommend Elizabeth Gore-Jones, Principal of The Franchise and Business Lawyers for her professionalism and outstanding industry knowledge.
Through ten years as a franchisee of multiple site locations of one brand, I have had the need to utilise solicitors for various business requirements. Until I met Elizabeth, our legal needs were addressed by several different solicitors, changing the person or company I dealt with based on the work required and never giving repeat business to any of them. Elizabeth is different and I have engaged her services multiple times for various business needs over nearly four years.
Elizabeth's advice and recommendations are based on experience and her reputation across industry bodies and among the network in the legal profession speaks volumes of her capabilities. Above all of this, she is easy to work with, goes beyond expectation if the occasion requires it and results in my satisfaction of her services and referral to you.
In 2016, feeling anxious and out of my depths, I contacted the The Franchise & Business Lawyers to help me with an issue in dispute between myself and my Franchisor.
I was recommended to contact Elizabeth Gore-Jones, Franchise lawyer, who took on my matter. From the get go, Elizabeth was patient, warm and comforting; carefully taking in and assessing all of the information I'd given her, while always keeping me informed of the many possible outcomes of my matter and giving constructive advice and guidance that has helped navigate me through what would have otherwise been an impossible whirlwind.
Having Elizabeth as my representation has given me a sense of comfort and much needed relief.During times where everything became so overwhelming, Elizabeth was always able to prioritise what did and didn't need attention, gently guiding me and helping me to focus in on the points of importance, saving me time and also money in fees.
Elizabeth went above and beyond all my expectations.I consider myself incredibly lucky to have this outstanding, empathetic, and hard working solicitor representing me and would highly recommend her services.
