I recently purchased a franchise coffee shop.
I had never owned a business before or worked in a coffee shop, so the whole concept was new to me.
The paperwork and documentation were overwhelming and consisted of hundreds of pages of legal terms. For each document, Elizabeth Gore-Jones provided a summary for each point, advising what this meant and a further column advising what it meant to me or what I needed to be aware of, etc.
This made it so much easier for me to understand.
Further, we had an issue with the bank and Elizabeth chased and chased them to get a response. Finally, contact was made only to find that they had "forgotten" about the settlement. This was now with under one week before settlement and the bank said there was no way that settlement would go ahead. Elizabeth strongly followed this up and made direct contact with the franchisor and the seller's solicitors. They all worked together putting pressure on the bank taking it higher and did not let up until settlement occurred on time. This resulted in an hourly communique during the last few days, and Elizabeth was wonderful throughout this process.

Elizabeth, who I worked with, was exactly what you want in your lawyer, to the point that she was breaking it down into layman's terms, was EXTREMELY thorough, but more importantly, extremely personable (I would have loved to have gone for a glass of wine with her). I contacted Elizabeth after months of not getting anywhere with my franchisor over overpaid royalties and an expired deed for a store. I was hesitant to get lawyers involved, but after the first 20 minutes of talking to Elizabeth, I realised I should have done it months ago.
